Edwardsburg 2011 State Finals Performance
Edwardsburg High School Marching Band (Michigan) earned 9th place (8th in Visual GE) performing "Insomnia" with program and visual design by Jeff Williams at the Michigan Competing Band Association Finals on November 5, 2011.  Congratulations on a great return to State Finals!

We used Jeff Williams drill design for the past 2 seasons and have started the plans for
season 3. Jeff is extremely knowledgable in all aspects of design including staging, setting
up the big moments and insuring that my students are able to play thier parts while marching
his drill.

When designing our shows I typically allow the music choices to drive my show selection and programming decisions. Jeff communicates with my visual ensemble and percussion staff
members throughout the process and helps to keep us all on the same page. Jeff is able to
take all of our musical and visual ideas to create a package that is a cohesive product. From
the initial consultations through to the last page of drill, he always delivered on time and the
product is always competitive.

The thing that I enjoy most about working with Jeff is his commitment to my students. He
made sure the students had the best "band experience" possible and was genuinely concerned
with our progress through out the season. Before I ever hit the first competitition I know that the season is a success because the drill is fun, exciting and motivating to all of my students.

If you want on time drill design that fits your budget, a visual show that your band can perform cleanly, an entertaining show for your students to learn, parents and fans to cheer, and judges
to reward, then you have come to the right place.

From concept planning to music selection, visual design and final product, take advantage of
my extensive experience in the marching arts to take your program to the next level.

Whether you are a new director working to re-invigorate your program or you have an
established program and want to be more
competitive, I can help you reach your goals
through my ability to write drill to the ability
level of your students and staff.

Your show will be current with modern design trends in the marching arts because I stay current with the marching arts.  Watching hundreds of drum corps, marching band, and winter shows each year gives me an opportunity to see which concepts and ideas are working on the competitive field and which ones are not.  Applying this knowledge to your show planning and design will make you more competitive and help your students have a more enjoyable experience.  Funny how this will increase your retention and recruiting!

I have had the pleasure of working with Jeff and his drill for more than seven years.  Jeff's
knowledge and love of the marching activity and the design process has been invaluable to
me on many occasions.  Jeff often works directly with my staff (and students) to make sure
all parts of the drill are functioning exactly the way they were intended.  It is apparent when
you use Jeff's drill that he is still an active teacher in the visual activity.  His drill is effective,
and yet still accessible to the average high school student.
